Ghazal of Love

O new spring, who is there to comfort you? In the garden of your love, my soul, who is the beloved? You left to become the nightingale of every thorn and weed who mourns over your bleeding heart? There where they deal out your gain and your loss who keeps the curtain over your burned treasure? I am the dust of your path, but tell me on the road to your rose garden, who is the lone rider? Before your spring slips from your hand come back, see who is scarred by grief for you. What can the eye see of the world apart from you? Who but death walks beside this field of thorns?

Maani
